River Valley Group unveils revamped Head Offices, raising professional standards

River Valley Group has unveiled its newly revamped and refurbished Head Offices in Gweru, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to heighten professionalism and excellence.

The upgraded state- of- the art offices, now matching an international-standard design, reflect the company’s dedication to providing a modern and efficient workspace.

The redesigns include state-of-the-art facilities, improved working spaces, and enhanced amenities meant to foster productivity and innovation.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Rivervalley Group Chairman, Eng. Dr. Mncedisi Dube highlighted the importance of the upgrade in aligning with the company’s growth strategy.

“We had to renovate this place, put a new face to it, and maybe forget about the history of this office building before us.

“This refurbishment underscores our commitment to operational excellence and professionalism as the business of providing housing is key for people,” he said.

The group`s Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Prof. Smelly Dube said: “We are re-opening this place with new facilities, a totally new outlook and higher standards. We want to give our clients the value for their money that they spend on our services.”

The event was attended by key stakeholders, clients, and local officials, who commended River Valley Group for its investment in elevating corporate standards in the region.

Recently Professor Christopher Samkange, Secretary Edgar Sundai’s National Excellence Hall of Fame Committee, was thrilled to inform Prof Smelly Dube that after an extensive search across every town, published articles, untold stories, and nominations from various award ceremonies, his team had identified her as a heroine who has made history, inspired others, and left a lasting legacy in her field, for example mastery of craft.

“It has elevated you to the greatest level of achievements, earning you a place among the Immortals.

“As an inductee into the National Excellence Hall of Fame which is led by Professor Christopher Samkange, veteran urologist and a specialist surgeon,Professor at University of Zimbabwe to be a nominee is requirement for becoming a certified Zimbabwean hero.

“You will be recognized for your outstanding contributions and achievements. She will also be certified among the legendary visionaries.This prestigious recognition is celebrated once every ten years, honoring excellence in categories such as medicine, education, business, mining, music and art, entertainment, and more.”

The organisation said the nomination is a testament of Amb Smelly Dube’s hard work, dedication, and impact in the field.

” According to our research, your journey was not a passive platform, but you earned your spot despite facing challenges and all will be said on the day of the ceremony, which day a small statue of honor will be unveiled.

 

“You will also be awarded stars of honor, rated by the public, which will reflect the true worth of your greatest achievements. Please note that this voting is not a determinant of your status as a legend, but rather a reflection of your legacy. Your picture will be featured in the National Excellence Online Museum, and you will be featured in our magazine of national heroes.

“The induction ceremony will be graced by esteemed guests, including honorable sabhukus and chiefs, professors from different universities, and prominent church leaders, who will acknowledge your contributions and divine calling. The ceremony will also feature performances by great musicians, both alive and those who have long left.” It will take place on Saturday 28th June 2025 at the Rainbow Towers.

The trailblazing Gweru based business couple of Prof Smelly Dube along with Group Chairman Engineer Dr. Mncedisi Dube were also recently nominated to receive the Leaders Without Borders hall of fame (special recognition) awards for global excellence 2025.

The Leaders Without Borders Hall of Fame is an initiative recognizing individuals who have made a significant impact on the global stage, often through their leadership, sharp business acumen innovation, and commitment to social change.

This year the forthcoming 10th year Anniversary of the Without Borders International Business Summit and Honours event is scheduled for July 2nd – 4th, at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek, Namibia.

In a letter addressed to Amb Prof Dube, Founder and Principal Partner of the Leaders without Borders Development Centre, Ambassador Dr. Hillary Emoh, said she had been nominated under the Outstanding Business Woman of the Year for 2025 for utilizing innovative modern technologies and best practices in promoting the African continent.

“I wish to also inform you that you have been nominated for the Leaders Without Borders Hall of Fame award under the category: Outstanding Business Woman of the Year 2025″.

The award recognizes and celebrates distinguished personalities that are contributing to economic growth.

Both Prof Smelly Dube and Eng Dr. Mncedisi Dube are on record for saying they are inspired and motivated by President Mnangagwa’s developmental philosophy that “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo/ llwize lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo” (A country is built by its own citizens) and the Zimbabwe ls Open for Business Mantra which makes them continue to see more and more good policies put in place for an enabling environment for business to thrive in Zimbabwe.

In the latest award, the organisers said the couple’s company’s holding company, Rivervalley Group of Companies’ activities and success story over the years has proven it worthy to be listed in the 2025 prestigious list of the top 100 emerging global businesses. The event was held in London in February 2025.

“Their contribution to the global economy, innovative strength, against all odds while maintaining global standards stands them out amongst others,” read part of the citation by the awards organisers.

Rivervalley Group of Companies, has interests in property development, retail, construction, agriculture and mining, through its subsidiaries Rivervalley Properties, Matovu Mining, Continental Plaza and Hychania Farm, among others.

The entity is also expanding its wings internationally and now has a subsidiary real estate company in Scotland. Recently the business couple was in Australia to seek for business opportunities to spread their wings “down under”
