Sharara Primary School Shines on Prize Giving Day

Rusape- In the rural area of Makoni, the halls of Sharara Primary School were abuzz with excitement as the school hosted its prestigious Prize Giving Day ceremony. The event, which brought together proud parents, esteemed guests, and the school’s talented students, was a celebration of academic excellence, hard work, and dedication.

The ceremony, held on 2 December 2025, saw students receive awards and recognition for their outstanding performance in various subjects and extracurricular activities. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief (Chief Nyamombe),Educationist and politician, Mr Mukoyi, Ward Councilor, Mr Charehwa, Sharara Secondary School Head represented by his Deputy, Mr Nyika amongst other respected guests.

Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Gondo, welcomed everyone and introduce to the podium, the School Head, Mr Tichivangani AKA Mr Tich who highlighted the school’s achievements, attributing the success to the students’ commitment and the hard work of the teaching staff. He also shared the various achievements made by the school in different fields , academics, sports and infrastructural development.

”Success is not measured by the prize ,but by your effort” the Head encouraged the students. He applauded the hardworking students who were outstanding in different categories such as academics, sports, arts and entertainment.

”We would like to celebrate our female netball student who excel to the District level”, showcasing the young minds and talents that are being moulded at Sharara Primary School.

In the year 2025, Sharara Primary introduced a variety of sporting activities. The introduction of Rugby and Tennis marked the introduction of a diversified institution where sport is being taken into consideration rather than focusing on academics only. In his powerful heartfelt speech, Mr Tich acknowledged the importance of sports citing that not everyone is destined to academic excellence but others earn a living through sports.

The Guest of honour, Mr Mukoyi, a local educationist, a vibrant community leader and politician also made the event colourful. He delivered an inspiring speech, motivating the students to strive for greatness. In his speech he concluded that ”success is not a moment but a journey.”

As the event unfolds, learners were celebrated with magic presents for their academics. In celebration of excellence, Mr Mukoyi handed the presents to the successful intelligent students who prosper in the academic scene, sports ,arts, cleanliness, punctuality and discipline. This event marks the dedication of the school and the community in uplifting the school and the students at large.

The prize giving ceremony was a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to nurturing young minds. #Anything Sweet comes from Sweat#.
