Sharara Primary School Crowns Top Achievers at Prize Giving Day

Sharara Primary School honoured its brightest and most dedicated learners on December 2, celebrating outstanding achievements during its annual Prize Giving Day ceremony. The event highlighted pupils who excelled academically, artistically, in sports and in leadership roles, earning recognition for their hard work throughout the year.

Several learners were also recognised for excellence in almost every category. Top 3 students in each grade, were awarded prizes with the number one receiving a special price for the outstanding performance. Many students went home with prizes for being the best in academics, sports, arts, neatness and discipline.

The coveted Best Overall Upper Grades Award went to Deborah Kuwanda, a Grade 6 learner whose exceptional performance across all subjects set her apart from her peers. She was the top student in academics, sports and smartness hence she went away with three prizes. Deborah was also awarded an Award as a Prefect foe her leadership qualities and capabilities. To celebrate her excellence, the headmaster, Mr Tichivangani pledged to pay her schools fees for the whole of 2026 and another term to be paid by her class teacher, Mr Njerere.

In the lower grades category, Tadisa Mukorekwa of Grade 3 walked away with the Best Overall Grade Award, after consistently demonstrating remarkable understanding and participation in all learning areas. She was also awarded a prize for her leadership attributes, discipline and good behavior.

Sporting excellence also took centre stage. Christian Chapambare,Grade 6 was named the best in chess. Rewarded for his leadership and commitment on the netballfield ,Belinda Nyambuya received the Sportswoman of the Year Award,for her outstanding performances and discipline. In the cultural and creative category, Charmain Kujenga earned the Best in Arts and Creativity Award, recognised for her remarkable contribution to the school’s art and design ensemble. Nokutenda Ngirazi was awarded the best in Tennis for the year 2025.

Learners who demonstrated exceptional behaviour and service throughout the year were also applauded. Borerwe received the Best and Smart Prefect Award. Mike Bvunzwa was named The Most Disciplined Student.
The award winners left the ceremony celebrated and inspired, their achievements reflecting the dedication, talent and spirit that Sharara Primary School continues to nurture in its learners
