HARARE — A South Korean charity musical group, Beautiful Mind Charity (BMC), is in Zimbabwe this week staging a series of concerts in support of a nationwide rehabilitation project for people living with disabilities.
According to a press release, the initiative is being organised in partnership with Africa Future Foundation (AFF), JF Kapnek, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and other stakeholders. It forms part of an ongoing effort to promote inclusive healthcare services and raise public awareness about rehabilitation needs in the country.
The BMC ensemble, made up of seven professional musicians including pianists, violinists, cellists and vocalists, is scheduled to perform at venues in Harare and Victoria Falls. The concerts are aimed at supporting AFF’s Muka Project, which was launched in 2016 to strengthen rehabilitation healthcare systems and improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe.
In a statement, Beautiful Mind Charity Director Il-hwan Bai said the group was committed to using the power of music to foster solidarity and inspire action.
“We are honored to be in Zimbabwe, using the power of music to support meaningful development work. This collaboration with Africa Future Foundation will not only raise awareness but also inspire continued efforts to improve rehabilitation services for all,” the statement read.
According to AFF, the Muka Project — supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) — focuses on providing assistive devices, physical therapy training, community-based support, and policy advocacy. The programme currently operates in Harare, Bindura, Gwanda, Chitungwiza, Chinhoyi, Gweru, Masvingo and Mutare.
The press release also noted that the concert series represents a platform for Korea-Zimbabwe cultural exchange and people-to-people cooperation rooted in mutual respect and sustainable development.
The BMC team is set to perform at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital and Hellenic Academy in Harare on July 10, Celebration Church Borrowdale on July 12, and in Victoria Falls on July 13. The final concert will feature a joint performance with the Sepo Children Church Chorus Team from Zambia, showcasing cross-border collaboration through music.

Beautiful Mind Charity was established in 2007 and has gained international recognition for its humanitarian work, using music as a tool for social change and healing in communities affected by hardship. The organisation was granted special consultative status by the United Nations in 2016.
Africa Future Foundation continues to implement health and education programmes across several African countries, working with governments, local organisations and international donors to build sustainable, inclusive healthcare systems.
