ONE person died on the spot this morning after a vehicle plunged into a flood-induced pothole near Charter Estate in Chimanimani.
The spot is now considered a red spot to unsuspecting motorists and cyclists travelling to and from Chimaninimani especially during the night.
Chimanimani District Development Coordinator Joseph Manyurapasi confirmed the accident to Post On Sunday.
“Just before Charter on your way from Skyline there is a big pothole which was created after the old culvert gave in to heavy rains. One person died this morning when a vehicle plunged into the ditch,” said Manyurapasi.
Manyurapasi commented on how vehicles are now using another route to access the resort town.
“Motorists are now using Runowani detour to access the resourt town,” commented Manyurapasi.
Motorists are cautioned to be alert when traveling during this rain season.
