Zanu PF Women’s League has vowed to leave no stone unturned in making sure the ruling party prevails in the forthcoming by-elections, adding that voting for opposition would be like selling the sacrifices of the hard won
independence.
Secretary for Women’s League Maybe Mbowa while addressing party supporters in Mutare early on Tuesday said she was shocked that the eastern border city local authority was still in the hands of the opposition party.
A feat she described was derailing progress in the city because her party which boasts of two thirds majority in the National Assembly was not involved in the affairs of the local
authority.
“But Manicaland you never cease to amaze me because you are being ruled by our enemy. An enemy called CCC and an enemy called MDC-T, surely the road to Chimoio passed through this city.
What has gotten into you that you vote for opposition party members to represent your interests in local governance issues,” quarried Mbowa.
She took members of the party supporters at the gathering through some history lesson narrating
how the country attained its independence.
Mbowa lashed out at CCC President Nelson Chamisa who last week while at a rally in Kwekwe while addressing his supporters vowed that if his party is voted into power they will ask the white farmers to return to their farms to till land so as to return to the breadbasket status that this country had been since independence adding that the land redistribution exercise that was undertaken by Zanu Pf was chaotic and not yielding positive results.
“What we are saying is Zimbabwe will never vote for opposition into power. I heard Chamisa saying when his party is voted into power the whites will surely come back. To do what?
“He wants us to vote for his party so that he brings back whites. If the whites do come back all of you will be kicked out of the farms that you benefitted from Zanu Pf under its land redistribution programme.
If the whites do come back, all prostitutes flooding our streets in town will be chased away to do their trade in our high density suburbs,” she exclaimed.
She reiterated that Chamisa would never rule this country as he was still a young man who is still a greenhorn in politics. The CCC acronym she said was a symbolic of Satanism and said once Chamisa gets into power as women they will not hesitate to join men in returning to the bush to fight for this
country.
Isau Mupfumi (Zanu PF) lost the Dangamvura/Chikanga Constituency to Prosper Mutseyami on MDC-A ticket who was later recalled by MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora and Mupfumi is now vying for the seat in the upcoming by-elections.
The transport mogul has already set the ground rolling to drum up support by inviting Zanu Pf Politburo member Monica Mutsvangwa to speak good about what he aspires to do for the
constituency once voted in power.
The Central Committee member has also dolled out cash to all the 19 wards as well as melie meal and
fertilisers. Mupfumi last set foot in the August House in 2011 when he won the ticket through a by-election.
