Motorists traveling along Harare-Mutare Highway have expressed anger over the recently installed rubbles just before Surrey near Marondera.
Quite a good number of motorists suffered mechanical faults on their vehicles soon after the placement of these rubbles.
The minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Felix Mhona confirmed that the rubbles are just a temporary measure and Surrey is supposed to create another inner and outer lane at their business premises to allow smooth flow of traffic.
Quite a number of accidents have been recorded at Surrey due to negligence, and the rubbles was a measure to reduce speed at the area.
Engineer Amos Amos however urged the motoring public to adhere to road rule and regulations.
“There are speed limits at that particular area which motorists are failing to observe,” he said.
Meanwhile Marondera Proportional Representative, Roselyn Makoni, approached the deputy minister of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development, Marian Chombo, to address the madness of use of spikes by Marondera Municipality Police.
Marondera has the most difficult and corrupt members of Zimbabwe Republic Police and municipal police officers as the motoring public term roadblocks in Marondera to be not friendly.
However, both are said to be enforcing the law.
