Chimanimani based outfit Rusitu Tigers is pouncing at prey, one game at a time in Eastern Region Soccer league following an empathic dispatch of Manica Diamonds Juniors at Chirombo Stadium.
After a stellar week 20 perfomance at Mucheke stadium against Fc Wangu Mazodze Prince Tafirenyika coached side dismantled an ailing Manica Diamond Juniors 5 nil this past weekend, statement enough that they are in the thick and thin of championship race.
Rusitu Tiger’s gaffer Prince Tafirenyika humbled the teams stellar exploits citing that ‘tiger’s’ are in the process of creating a mindset worth for a championships run.
“Is the league open for everyone? Yes, but at this time it’s not the right time to say that we fancy a championship clinch. We work for it and if we are to take it we develop a mindset of champions.”
The Chimanimani based outfit has so far played 20 matches, winning 12, losing 4 and sharing spoils in 4 outings.
Quizzed on what he is telling the boys right in camp the former Buffaloes head coach said he always challenges the lads to do better than before and prioritize in improving.
“The major highlight is to work harder than before cause it’s easy to be on top but very difficult to maintain the top spot. Their performance is good and they are taking each game as it comes.”
The roaring tiger’s are 2 points behind Tenax and Fc Wangu Mazodze who are square on 42 points.
Goal difference is also tight at the top.
Fc Wangu Mazodze have a 19 goal tally, Luke Petros Jukulile coached Tenax are a pinch below with 18 while Rusitu Tiger’s have have been a 16 goal tally.
Meanwhile former PSL ace Mutare City Rovers, Bikita Minerals, and Buffaloes are sitting the 4th, 5th, and 6th position respectively.
