Green Fuel gaffer Rodwell Dhlakama is convinced that his team is hungry to remain in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and avoid relegation amid great support the side has received from both the fanbase and management.
After completion of week 26 round of fixtures it looks certain thag611 teams are still in the danger of dropping to the ultimate relagation zone making the competition at the bottom very interesting.
Quizzed on his thoughts on the beckoning relegation twist and turn Green Fuel Head Coach Rodwell Dhlakama admitted that the season is a difficult one considering that many clubs are fighting relagation rather than the title.
“It’s a difficult season altogether because if you look at it only 7 teams at the apex of the log standings are free from relagation that is Herentals going up wards. The rest are still fighting relagation which means about 11 teams are fighting relegation. This means that it’s a league of two divisions.”
Dhlakama said even though there will be twist and turns in the bottom half his remains indebted to Chisumbanje and the paymasters on the support they have been receiving.
“We expect twist and turns in the coming games but it requires resilience and hard work from the
boys to keep the team afloat. If you fail to do that then the chances are there that you might be relagated. As Greenfuel we have what it takes to evade relagation considering all the support we get from management, that is financial support, training facilities.”
He added,” It’s up to us to really show that we have the hunger. This is a team that is in the remote area meaning that we have the time and space to manage players ad focus on the game.”
Greenfuel last outing was a nill all draw against ailing Black Rhino’s side this past Saturday.
After week 27 round of fixtures the Chipinge based outfit has so far amassed 33 points.
Meanwhile ZPC Kariba edged Fc Platinum in a 2-1 score line. Herentals walloped Yadah 4 – 0.
Chicken Inn suffered a 1 nill loss at the hands of Ngezi Platinum while Bulawayo Chiefs were edged by Simba Bhora 1 nill.
Match between Dynamos and Manica Diamonds was postponed.
