River Valley’s Dr Mncedisi & Prof Smelly Dube, Strong Contenders For 2025 Hall of Fame Global Award

Trailblazing Gweru based business couple and RiverValley Properties Group Chief Executive Officer Prof Smelly Dube along with Group Chairman Engineer Dr. Mncedisi Dube have been nominated to receive the Leaders Without Borders hall of fame (special recognition) awards for global excellence 2025.
The Leaders Without Borders Hall of Fame is an initiative recognizing individuals who have made a significant impact on the global stage, often through their leadership, sharp business acumen innovation, and commitment to social change.

This year the forthcoming 10th year Anniversary of the Without Borders International Business Summit and Honours event is scheduled for July 2nd – 4th, at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek, Namibia.
In a letter addressed to Amb Prof Dube, Founder and Principal Partner of the Leaders without Borders Development Centre, Ambassador Dr. Hillary Emoh, said she had been nominated under the Outstanding Business Woman of the Year for 2025 for utilizing innovative modern technologies and best practices in promoting the African continent.


“I wish to also inform you that you have been nominated for the Leaders Without Borders Hall of Fame award under the category: Outstanding Business Woman of the Year 2025″.

The award recognizes and celebrates distinguished personalities that are contributing to economic growth
“I wish to also inform you that one of your companies, Tebekwe Mine has been nominated as one of the top 50 emerging businesses in africa 2025 for it’s transformative impact across Africa, and also for pioneering one of the best privately owned businesses in africa that is promoting economic growth and inclusion, whilst utilizing innovative modern technologies and best practices
in promoting the African continent,” reads part of the invite.

Both Prof Smelly Dube and Eng Dr. Mncedisi Dube are on record for saying they are inspired and motivated by President Mnangagwa’s developmental philosophy that “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo/ llwize lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo” (A country is built by its own citizens) and the Zimbabwe ls Open for Business Mantra which makes them continue to see more and more good policies put in place for an enabling environment for business to thrive in Zimbabwe.
In the latest award, the organisers said the couple’s company’s holding company, Rivervalley Group of Companies’ activities and success story over the years has proven it worthy to be listed in the 2025 prestigious list of the top 100 emerging global businesses. The event was held in London in February 2025.

The top 50 Emerging Businesses in Africa is a prestigious list recognizing the next wave of innovative enterprises reshaping the African continent.
These companies represent the cutting edge of industry transformation, from pioneering technologies to game-changing strategies across diverse sectors.
Each business on this list has shown outstanding growth, resilience, visionary leadership, and sustainability, setting the bar for excellence in the global marketplace.

In addition, Dr Dube and Eng Dr. Dube and Prof Smelly Dube were recognized for demonstrating sheer resilience and focus in sustaining their businesses over a considerate period of time.
“Their contribution to the global economy, innovative strength, against all odds while maintaining global standards stands them out amongst others,” read part of the citation by the awards organisers.
Rivervalley Group of Companies, has interests in property development, retail, construction, agriculture and mining, through its subsidiaries Rivervalley Properties, Matovu Mining, Continental Plaza and Hychania Farm, among others.
The entity is also expanding its wings internationallly and now has a subsidiary real estate company in Scotland. Recently the business couple was in Australia to seek for business opportunities to spread their wings “down under”.
