The Government of Malawi has with immediate effect increased their public service salaries by more than 50%.
Blessing Chilabade, Principal Secretary for Human Resources has confirmed and said the circular on increment has already been issued.
“Government has effected an across-the- board increment pushing the wage bill up”
he also advised that the lowest paid will be going home with K118 000 which is equivalent to USD $157 and the highest paid will pocket 3m kwacha which is approximately USD $400 respectively.
He further highlighted that the negotiations where done by civil servants Trade Union and Teachers Union of Malawi
