Mushroom Illegal allocation of tables at mpedzanhamo area has led to the violation of Covid 19 pandemic regulations.
In an interview with this publication, ZanuPf Mbare 7 District vice chairperson, Enerst Kuziva popularly known as Mandebvu said our youths should benefit from vendors who stays outside Mbare through allocating them spaces.
“I am not at liberty to give the names of the space allocates but rather l would refer them as local youths”,said Kuziva.
The flea market has been closed on 31 March 2020, and traders who used to trade in Mpedzanhamo flea market remains closed up to date due to disputes between Zanupf and MDC.A supporters over the allocation of tables.
“Youths from Nyerere flats are allocating tables at an open space between Mpedzanhamo,Cameroon street and Agri foods”, He said.
Kuziva added that youths who resides in nyerere flats are now surviving through renting out spaces to desperate vendors who are trading in Magaba area by collecting USD 2-5 per table dairly depending on the size of the table.
Vice Chairperson Kuziva, said these youths are still constructing more vending stalls with sheds,”they managed to construct 45 vending stalls ,he said.
He said more than 100 tables are allocated and some are along the road.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is now under an investigation to bring the culprits to book before the situation worsens , because the vendors and customers are not observing the covid 19 pandemic regulations .
