Houses swept away, 10 people stuck and in fear of their lives after heavy rains downpoured Mwenezi district, Post On Sunday reports.
2 women and 8 children stranded and in need of help as they were reportedly stuck on tree branches, the only available alternative to survive the floods.
Unconfirmed reports also claim 8 people have gone missing and the affected families have been hanging in the trees for more than 5 hours without food or water to drink.
Their property and livestock have been swept away and the value of the lost property could not be ascertained by time of going to publish.
A report has since been made to Masvingo command centre and the civil protection Unit is expected to go and rescue the affected persons while a search for those missing to be conducted.
When reached for comment Masvingo Provincial command centre, Sergeant Tomu confirmed the report.
We have contacted the minister of state and devolution for Masvingo province, Ezra Chadzamira and we are planning for the rescue.
