A 21 year old woman from Shurugwi died after being struck by her husband using a wooden chair.
The official report by Zimbabwe Republic Police understands that a male adult, Simbarashe Majasi, husband to the now deceased Audrey Chikoka had a misunderstanding while in their bedroom.
Circumstances reveal that Majasi was accusing Chikoka of stealing his money.
Audrey Chikoka fell unconscious when she was struck by a wooden chair at the back of her head.
Majasi quickly vacated the scene. Sithembekile Mpofu (48), owner of the house, arrived at the scene and found Chikoka lying on the floor the rushed with to Shurugwi hospital were she was pronounced dead upon arrival and she is currently pending postmortem.
The matter was quickly reported to the police. Simbarashe Majasi is currently on the run.
Midlands Provincial inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident to Post On Sunday and said people should resolve issues amicably and shun from emotions.
“We appeal to members of the public to solve disputes amicably and avoid the use of violence. Common sense should always prevail in determining ways of handling disputes,” he said.
