In a bid to solve the shortage of oxygen in the country , a Non-Gorvenmental Organisation in Masvingo has come to the rescue of Rujeko isolation centre which is also a Provincial Covid 19 isolation centre.
Kufema handed over five Oxera kits to help in supply oxygen to covid 19 patients.
A total of 10 kits have been donated but only 5 so far have been handed over to the isolation with the remaining 5 expected to be handed over soon to cover for all the available 10 beds.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at Masvingo city council, Kufema Masvingo Province Director Mathew Nindi said their organisation is helping with respiratory aids to save lives for those with respiratory distress.
“Kufema is set up to save lives and help people with respiratory distress breathe easier.
We do this through donating oxygen therapy equipment such as the innovative OxERA kits to emergency response teams, hospital and healthcare providers who provide ltreatment to the public at no-cost or low cost.” he said.
Masvingo city Council Town Clerk Edward Mukaratirwa applauded the gesture by Kufema and said this will help save lives at Rujeko isolation centre.
Rujeko isolation centre can only accommodate ten patients.
