Zimbabwe performance has casted a lot of doubt on the capabilities of the technical department and football mother body ZIFA.
There has been a calabash of reasons from the nations football fraternity on whether Zimbabwe is even ready for any international campaigning but one reason that comes to mind is the attachment of league coaches.
It lacks proper reasoning to find a coach who is chasing fame and trying to boost, evaluate and charge his league team being given another mountainous task at a national level.
Its just another defiance to the adage ,”You can not serve two masters at once.” Looking at Warriors technical bench, you will see recognize Tonderayi Nderaya.
Nderaya is the head coach for the biggest and most decorated club in the nation, Dynamos Fc. If you ask anyone who passed through “Chazunguza”, from the days of George Shaya, Vitalis Takawira to the current generation of Rodrick ” The Prince” Mutumwa, they will tell you that its a hot sit.
The coach there is expected to win and Tonderaya Nderaya being the gaffer, he was focusing on how he was to clinch the Chibuku Super Cup.
The signing of the likes of King Nadolo, Patson Jaure, Takunda John Mawarire and the likes of Temwanjira upfront meant nothing else than 95% winning streak.
How was Nderaya going to travel across Zimbabwe to scout for talent during Chibuku cup while he was also participating in the same cup? Thats a question with an obvious answer.
Remember, Chibuku was a source of COSAFA player selection.
Lloyd Chitembwe, who is now head coach of council based Harare City Fc also was focused on how he was to conquer his respective Chibuku group campaign in Harare. His group pitted ZPC Kariba, Herentials, Yadah, Dynamos and Caps United.
Its clear that while these attached coaches where busy focusing on their cup campaigns, they failed to find time to scout, assess and evaluate the fitness levels of players around Zimbabwe.
Another burning question on the social scene regards to the whereabouts of Zdravko Logarusic during Chibuku Cup.
For you to know the sweetness of the cake, you would have eaten it. Chibuku Super Cup happened but the Croatian gaffer was absent at Mandava stadium, Bourbofields stadium, Sakubva stadium or even the National sports stadium.
How was he able to judge the fitness of his charges when he did not even have a glimpse of local football in action? Also thats another question with an obvious answer.
