Magariro Aims At bringing Back Masvingo United Premiership

Former Dynamos FC and Masvingo United icon George Magariro has started an initiative of grooming young soccer players as well as searching for talent in them.

Speaking during the donation of soccer balls by former Masvingo United great Maxwell Chambara, MAFT Junior Head coach Magariro said he was determined to bringing back Masvingo United to premiership.

Applauding the gesture and a donation of soccer balls and football kits Magariro said he has been challenged to make the youngsters dream come true.

“I am excited MAFT believed in my goal of grooming juniour teams and I’m now challenged to produce players or even to go as far as bringing back our own Masvingo United into premiership.


We keep urging our youngsters that education is the key , so before or after our session we encourage them to go and read because it helps when one plays for international teams you need to be equipped with basic english for communication” Magariro said.

MAFT Chairperson Clayton Shereni added that his aim is to bring prosper in the football fraternity in Masvingo province.

“Our aim is prosperity in football here in Masvingo, it is painfull that we last had Premeir Leaugue in 2011, now we go as far as Zvishavane and Chiredzi to watch PSL reason being that of having same players while other come from other provinces.

We want to nature our own youngsters so that when they are ripe for competitive football they can compete at any level” said Shereni.

Former Masvingo United great based in United States of America Maxwell Chambara donated a consignment of 12 soccer balls, a set of bibs and a set of shorts.
