Honda Fit Driver Kill 2 Pedestrians.

Police in Gweru is investigating a case of a fatal road accident where two unidentified men were hit by a honda fit vehicle

The duo died upon admission at Gweru Provincial Hospital in an incident which occurred on 03 August 2021 at 1830 hours.

Circumstances reveal that, on approaching the 13 km peg along the Zvishavane -Gweru road, near Guinea fowl ,the driver of a white honda fit which was heading Zvishavane failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle.

He veered off to the right side of the road and hit two men (yet to identified) who were walking along the road towards Gweru.

A report was made at Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) Gweru Traffic and scene was attended. The unknown men sustained serious head injuries and were rushed to Gweru Provincial Hospital by a well-wisher where they pronounced dead upon arrival.

Midlands Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said It saddening to note that lives were being lost in these circumstances.

“drivers are reminded to always bear in mind that it is their duty to guard against accidents of any nature and promote safety on the roads.

“driver must always regulate their speeds to levels which allow them to act to any situation.

“Police are appealing to members of the public who are missing their relatives to approach Gweru Traffic police for identification of the bodies which are currently at Gweru Provincial Mortuary.” added Mahoko.
