Four Zion Apostolic Church Members Killed In Horrific Accident

ZRP has confirmed the death of 4 people in a deadly accident at Buchwa mountain point.

 

Midlands Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said that the four deceased passengers where all Zion Apostolic Church members who lost their lives after the driver reared off the road.

 

“Police in Zvishavane are investigating a fatal road accident where 4 people died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned and rolled several times.

“Casper Bangure a man aged 40years was on his way back from an all night prayer driving his vehicle uphill along an unnamed disused mine road on top of Buchwa Mountain in Mberengwa.

He had 3 passengers on board Joyful Mlhanga aged 39years, Miriam Mhaka aged 15yeras and Pamela Ngonidzashe aged 31years all of them were Zion Apostolic Church Members. Upon approaching a steep ascent along the said road, the vehicle’s engine stalled.”

 

Further circumstances from the official report indicate that the vehicle rolled backwards, overturned several times downhill before landing on its wheels at a distance of about 200metres. All the occupants were thrown out of the vehicle and died on the spot.

Inspector Mahoko added that the incident was reported to the police and scene was attended together with community members who helped to retrieve the bodies.

The bodies were conveyed to Zvishavane District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

“Motorists are encouraged to check road worthiness of their vehicles before embarking on a journey. They should also avoid taking risks by travelling on disused and dangerous roads,” he said.
