Zanupf & CCC To Battle For Kadoma Urban Ward Seat

Zanupf candidate Emmanuel Mavata and Citizens Coalition For Change candidate Devin Levy will battle it out in the March 26 bye election to fill the vacant Kadoma Local Authority Ward 13 after they were duly nominated to contest while Rosemary Muguni of Mdc T arrived late and failed to file her documents when the Nomination Court sat in Kadoma yesterday.

MDC-T Kadoma District Acting Chairperson Ophias Mukuru arrived late at the Nomination Court after the Presiding  Officer,Edeline Kusikwenyu had closed the Nomination Court.

“We feel we’ve been hard done by the system,we arrived just at the height of the clock,1600hrs,only to be told by the Presiding Officer that we’re late and she had already closed the Nomination Court and this has made our opponents to be very happy and you can see some are singing with joy.

“they know that if the MDC-T had filed their candidate they would have a good run of their money,we’re actually going to win that Ward 13 seat!”said Mukucha-Acting Chairperson Mdc-T Kadoma District.

Zec Presiding Officer,Edeline Kusikwenyu said that the MDC-T party representative arrived late after the Nomination Court had closed.

“The two contesting parties had already been duly nominated to contest in Ward 13 and the law did not allow me to accommodate them and had to turn them back”said Edeline Kusikwenyu.
Kadoma Urban ward 13 fell vacant following the death of the then councillor Thembisa Gobo in 2020.
