GOVERNMENT ministries and agencies have been challenged to exhibit during agricultural shows. The Permanent Secretary for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Edgars Seenza, challenged delegates as the Guest of Honour at the official opening of Chipinge Agricultural Show on September 16 2023 in Chipinge.
“As I was inspecting the stands, I noticed that a few government ministries and agencies have exhibited here. I challenge them to consider exhibiting in future shows. How can the good work that the Government is doing be publicized to the public if ministries and agencies don’t exhibit their work?” he said.
The Permanent Secretary also challenged the business community to respond to the need of the farmers. He urged business to take advantage of the agro products that are grow in Chipinge and add value to them as a means of increasing the Gross Domestic Product of Manicaland.
The 2023 edition of Chipinge Agricultural Show had a total of 35 exhibitors. The event saw a number of new companies add to the list of perennial exhibitors. It was interesting to see educational institutions showcasing at the exposition.
The fourth edition of Chipinge Agricultural Show took place from September 14-16 this year and ran under the theme: “Going for Agricultural, Industrial and Economic growth.”
Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) scooped top prizes in two categories; Best Parastatal and Best Overall Winner.
