Chibuku Super Cup To Roll This Weekend

MUTARE- THE inaugural Chibuku Super Cup roars into life this weekend at Sakubva Stadium after one year absence from action under a cluster competition with potential blockbuster matches lined up.

The much anticipated football action will kick-off this weekend in Mutare and other cities.

Sakubva Stadium will host group three teams namely Tenax FC, Black Rhinos, Manica Diamond and Cranborne Bullets.

The debutants Tenax FC will host BlackRhinos on Saturday at Sakubva Stadium and on Sunday the Ngoda Boys will lock horns with another debutant side in the group Cranborne Bullets.

The top flight teams adopted the proposal from the Premier Soccer League (PSL)board to play in a mini phased league. The PSL has previously set 16 May 2021 as the day for resumption however the day was pushed to 22 May 2021 for matches to resume.

Supporters in Manicaland expressed that they are being deprived of their rights to have a glimpse of their Manicaland teams in action since there are no supporters allowed.

Givemore Tsuro a staunch football supporter had this to say

“We were supposed to be allowed in the grounds to watch matches lives but they are ignorant about the prospect of us to attend matches.

“If you look at it the people are gathering everywhere but why not sport, the responsible authority must take heed of our call as the stakeholders as well”

Another football fan Leonard Chiro weighed in saying

“I missed local football i don’t have money to buy data bundles to live stream the match why can’t they allow us to attend live matches”.

Meanwhile in in group one for Harare has six teams, Dynamos, CAPS Unites, ZPC Kariba, Herentials, Harare City and Yadah FC.

Group two constist of Bulawayo teams that will be a group of derbies with four teams Bulawayo Chiefs, Bulawayo City, Chicken Inm and Highlanders.

Group four has both platinum miners within their ranks namely Ngezi Platinum, FC Platinum, Traingle and Whawha.

The weekend fixture is as follows in all four cities with four matches lined up on a Saturday and Five matches on Sunday.

Whawha v FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium 1300hrs

CAPS United v Yadah at the giant arena National Sports Stadium 1500hrs

Tenax v Black Rhinos at Sakubva Stadium 1500hrs

Ngezi Platinum v Triangle at Mandava Stadium 1100hrs

Harare City v ZPC Kariba at National Sports Stadium 1100hrs

Bulawayo Chiefs v Highlanders at Barbour Fields Stadium 1300hrs

Herentals v Dynamos at National Sports Stadium 1500hrs

Manica Diamonds v Cranborne at Sakubva Stadium 1500hrs
