THE Heroes of Faith Concert is back and bigger with Nigerian gospel star Minister GUC Obinigwe set to headline the show which will take place on Independence Day at Belgravia Sports Club.

Minister Obinigwe landed in Zimbabwe yesterday for the first time.

This year’s concert will mark the second edition of the concert which will also see our local stars such as Janet Manyowa and Takesure Zamar also being part of the main performers.

Organisers of the concert “SetUp Events” said they have been receiving overwhelming response to the upcoming show as concert tickets are going through the roof.

In an Interview, SetUp Events Manager Ngonidzashe Nhandara said the concert will promote the growth of local gospel musicians as they will have a platform to learn and exchange knowledge, culture from established artists. She said a lot of events throughout the entertainment calendar do not always cater well for Christians.

“This is a way of promoting and supporting local gospel music through such events and helps our local musicians to learn from established artists from beyond our borders and exchange knowledge and culture from each other.

“We chose this date being Independence Day for our nation, when we are commemorating the freedom of our nation that came as a result of the sacrifices of Heroes of the liberation struggle, the theme of our concert commemorates Heroes of the Faith both biblical, past and present who paved the way to establish the faith in the heart of men.

“The response from the fans has been very positive and Christians from all walks of life have expressed great excitement and are very expectant for this show and the objective of this concert is to have an event where Christian families in Zimbabwe can get to go out and have some fun in an environment that is conducive to worship the Lord at the same,” she said.

As the show draws near Nhandara said they’re welcoming other sponsors to help put up an amazing historical concert of international standards.

Exciting list of headliners are expected to perform the likes of Minister Takesure Zamar, Janet Manyowa, the dynamic group Joyful Praise Choir, Minister Ellard and Spirit Praise all set to share the stage with Minister GUC.
