The game of billiards has proven to transform the lives of people in the communities and Delta Beverages has and is still in support of a dream come true to many.
On the 8th of July 2023 a total number of 128 participants travelled to Masvingo from all Provinces of Zimbabwe to participate in the Black Label Champions Pool Finals. The event was hosted at Flamboyant Hotel.
Delta Beverages for more than 10 years to date has spearheaded in supporting the games and the 2023 edition has proven to be one of the best.
In this year’s Women finals edition Patricia Ganya ‘aka’ Mudhara was crowned the Champion and walked away with a Pool table and prize money amounting to 1500US$
Ganya a 53 year old woman , mother of 3 could not content her joy and happiness for the journey to success has not been as easy. “ It took 30 years for me to be a Champion” so she said.
Ganya’s story to success started 30 years ago in Chitungwiza with the support of Isaac Tichareva a Founder of Tigers Pool Club. Pool was never seen a woman game however took the challenge to the next level.
In 2019 with other women Ganya represented Zimbabwe at the AAPA games in South Africa which saw the nation bringing back a Bronze Trophy. Through hard work and recognition from Zimbabwe Pool Association she became the first lady referee and Women Representative as the Chairlady.
“Delta Beverages has transformed my livelihood, more passion for the game and would like to invite other women to play and partake the pool challenge”, says Patricia.
A big thank you to Delta Beverages once again.
