As Powertel Communications celebrates 25 years of operation in Zimbabwe’s fast-paced telecommunications sector, the company is adapting to market dynamics and embracing emerging technologies.
The telecommunications company, Managing Director, Willard Nyagwande said they are committed to staying ahead of the curve.
“Our strategic response includes investing in GEO and LEO technologies to complement our superior fiber infrastructure, ensuring enhanced network reliability and resilience,” said Mr Nyagwande.
Powertel has established multiple disaster recovery sites, four internet gateways, and green energy solutions to minimize network disruptions.
This enhancement aligns with the company’s focus on digital inclusivity.
“Digital inclusivity is key to bridging the gap between urban and rural areas,” Nyagwande emphasized.
“Our hybrid connectivity approach, integrating LEO satellite and fiber technologies, will connect the unconnected rural areas, ” he added.
This initiative supports Vision 2030’s goal of a fully digital economy. Powertel is deploying enhanced service delivery through core network optimization and SDWAN technology.
“We’re excited to offer our All-Weather Connectivity Packages, ensuring uninterrupted service underpinned by a robust fiber backbone, quadruple internet gateways, and satellite technology,” Nyagwande assured.
