Muchena Eyes Miss Premium

Modelling dazzle and sensation Rumbidzai Muchena will this year rub shoulders with 30 Africa’s sensations at Port Harcourt as she represents Zimbabwe at Miss Premium Africa pageant to be held in Nigeria, starting October 15.

The 27 year Midlands pride came top in the national edition of Miss Premium Zimbabwe and she is eyeing for a continental showcase as she goes against Africa’s finest and realest.

Muchena told Post On Sunday that her hopes are high and she is greatly honored to be part and parcel of the continental moment of brilliance.

“It’s a great honor to qualify for Miss Premium Africa. Going against 30 other countries is a high task but l believe in myself. Such opportunities create connections through interaction and meeting new people from different countries at the same time requires a lot of preparation, determination and also good morals.”

Muchena is a full time worker at the Ministry of mines and mining development stationed at Gweru office.

“Preparations to Miss Premium Africa are hectic since I have to balance off work and modelling career prospects”

“Preparing for my two international pageants has been difficult. It’s been hard getting sponsorship and I have to do everything for myself worse with the current economic situation in Zimbabwe” she added.

Besides her 2021 target, the lady is also the current holder of Miss Empress Zimbabwe 2022 and runners up of Miss Heritage Zimbabwe 2021. She is also taking part in Miss Empress Africa which will be held virtually through costume showcase. Her prowess spills to works of philanthropy as she is passionate about girl child welfare.

“I am carrying out a pad campaign. My main aim was to do it in schools but due to covid-19 induced lockdown everything has been put on hold but I’m hoping it shall be well,” she added.
